Terms of Service
Last updated 25 August 2026
1. Who these terms are with
Cuecraft is provided by Jeremy Lecocq, Flat 8 Browning Court, Kipling Close, Malvern, Worcestershire, WR14 2UH ("we", "us"). Installing or using the software means you accept these terms.
2. What you get
A licence to install and use Cuecraft on the computers you personally edit on, for as long as your subscription is active. The free tier needs no subscription and does not expire; it exports the first approximately fifteen minutes of a timeline. Paid tiers export the whole timeline.
You may not resell, sublicense, or redistribute the software, or share your licence key. The software itself remains ours.
3. What you need to run it
Cuecraft is a macOS application. It does not run on Windows or Linux. It produces an FCPXML timeline intended for DaVinci Resolve, and it needs a master audio recording of the event to sync the cameras against. If that does not describe your setup, please do not buy — use the free tier first, or email us and we will help you check.
How the licence works. Paid features are unlocked by a signed licence key we email you after payment. The app checks that key on your own machine and makes no network requests of any kind. If you lose the key, email support@cuecraft.net and we will resend it.
Prices are £25 per month or £250 per year. Paddle shows you the total in your own currency, with any VAT or sales tax for your country already worked out, before you pay. There is nothing to add afterwards.
4. Your footage is yours
We claim no rights of any kind over the video, audio, timelines or exports you produce with Cuecraft. We never receive them.
5. Subscriptions, trials and cancellation
- Paid plans are £25 per month or £250 per year, billed by Paddle and renewing automatically until cancelled.
- New subscriptions start with a 14-day free trial. A card is taken up front and is not charged until the trial ends. We will email you before that first charge.
- Cancel at any time from the link on your Paddle receipt, or by emailing support@cuecraft.net from the address you bought with — we will action it within one business day and confirm by email. Cancelling stops the next payment; it does not refund the period you are in. Cancel during the trial and you are never charged.
- When a subscription ends, the app drops back to the free tier. It keeps working, and nothing you have already made is affected.
6. If you are a consumer: your cancellation right
If you are buying as an individual rather than for a business, UK consumer law gives you 14 days from the start of a distance contract to change your mind, and that right exists whatever these terms say.
- Monthly and annual plans both begin with a 14-day free trial, and no money is taken during it. Cancelling in that window costs you nothing, which is the cooling-off period running its course before any payment exists.
- If you are charged and then change your mind, our refund promise below is deliberately longer and simpler than the statutory right: 30 days, no reason needed. Use whichever suits you. We will not argue about which one applies.
- The free tier involves no payment, so the cooling-off right has nothing to apply to. You are still bound by these terms while you use it, and you can stop at any time by deleting the app.
Nothing in these terms removes or limits your statutory rights as a consumer.
7. Refunds
The free tier lets you test on your own footage, and the 14-day trial lets you use the full version before paying anything. If you are still not happy after a charge, email support@cuecraft.net within 30 days of it and we will refund it in full. You do not need to give a reason. This is in addition to your legal rights, not instead of them.
8. What we do not promise
Cuecraft makes editorial judgements automatically, and it will sometimes make ones you disagree with — that is why the output is an editable timeline and not a rendered video. It is a tool for a professional editor to build on, not a guarantee of a finished edit. We do not warrant that it is error-free or that it suits any particular shoot.
If you use Cuecraft in a business, our total liability to you for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before it arose, and we are not liable for lost profits, lost data or business interruption.
If you are a consumer, that cap does not apply to you. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, for the statutory rights the Consumer Rights Act 2015 gives you in digital content, or for damage to your device or your files caused by Cuecraft under section 46 of that Act.
9. Acceptable use
Do not attempt to circumvent the licence check, forge licence keys, or reverse-engineer the software except where the law expressly permits it. If you do, your licence to use Cuecraft ends and we may cancel your subscription and decline to sell to you again. Where we cancel for this reason, no refund is due for the remaining period.
10. Third parties
Payments are handled by Paddle, who are the merchant of record. That means Paddle is the seller for the transaction: your payment is to them, your receipt and your VAT invoice come from them, and they are responsible for the sales tax in your country. Your purchase is also subject to Paddle's own terms, and cancellations and refunds are actioned through them.
Email is delivered by Resend and the site is hosted by Cloudflare, each under their own terms. Cuecraft bundles open-source components under their own licences; the list ships inside the application.
11. Changes and governing law
We may update these terms. We will email subscribers at least 30 days before any material change takes effect. If you do not accept a change, cancel before it takes effect and we will refund the unused part of your current billing period.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and its courts have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer living somewhere else, this does not take away the protection of the mandatory consumer law of the country you live in, and you may bring proceedings there.
If any part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest continues to apply. Questions and complaints go to support@cuecraft.net, and we aim to reply within one business day.
